The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT has partnered with Tutu Global Forgiveness Challenge which aims to promote awareness around the virtues of forgiveness. Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu was the Chair of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which worked to investigate human rights abuses, assist with victim rehabilitation and consider amnesty applications from all sides of the Apartheid era .  Based on Tutu’s conviction in the power of forgiveness,  the commission’s work  provided a revolutionary way to address ethic conflict in South Africa and around the world.   With this global challenge, Tutu invites all of us to experience the power of forgiveness. Participants from over 118 countries have already signed for the Forgiveness Challenge.

Archbishop Tutu is a Founding Member of The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT. He was awarded the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in resolving and ending apartheid.
